Water
Skills:
- Describes how water behaves in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrates the use of tools to move water.
- Describes objects that float and those that sink.
Concepts:
- Water exists in all areas of people’s environment.
- Liquid water, ice, snow, clouds, and water vapor are all forms of water.
- Some objects sink in water and some float.
- Ice floats in water.
- Water takes up more space when it freezes.
- Some materials mix with water, other materials do not.
- Some materials absorb water well, other materials absorb water poorly.
- Animals and plants cannot survive without water.
Habitats
Skills:
- States that characteristics of living and non-living things.
- Explains what living organisms need to survive.
- Describe ways that organisms are adapted to their environment.
Conecpts:
- Living things: obtain and use energy, grow and develop, reproduce, respond and adapt to their environment. Non-living things do not have all of the above characteristics.
- Habitats provide food and shelter for animals.
- Animals and plants adapt to the habitats they live in.
- Habitats change with the seasonal change.
