Skills:

Sound:
- Discriminates between sounds and identifies the properties of sound.
- Sound is caused by vibrations and travels in waves.
- Pitch is the “highness” or “lowness” of a sound, determined by the frequency of sound waves.
- Amplitude is the loudness of a sound, determined by the amplitude (height) of a sound wave.
- Sound travels through different materials at different speeds (frequencies).
Insects:
- Insects have a set of common characteristics.
- Insects are adapted to their habitats and have distinctive life cycles.
- Some insects are harmful to humans and the envirenment and many are helpful.
